Negotiators for the House and the Senate have come to an agreement on a final stimulus bill. The bill is now at $789 billion and could reach President Obama’s desk in a matter of days.

The Boston Red Sox have signed outfielder Rocco Baldelli to a one year contract. The former Tampa Bay Ray outfielder and Rhode Island native is expected to be the fourth outfielder in Beantown responsible for spelling starters, Jason Bay, Jacoby Ellsbury, and and J.D. Drew.

The Boston Red Sox are close to signing John Smoltz. The veteran pitcher has signed an offer and the two sides are apparently in the process of working out a few final details. This signing gives the Red Sox a rotation of Daisuke Matsuzaka, Josh Beckett, Tim Wakefield, John Lester, Brad Penney and Smoltz.
